The SPC has a minimum of six and up to a maximum of eleven members, including Affiliate representation drawn from institutions in the Program, plus Ex Officio members determined by the SCELC Board. SCELC Member libraries on the committee must always be the majority of the representation.
In selecting members, geographical location and library size should be represented as possible. At least one member should be drawn from an incoming cohort when vacancies are available. One member should serve as liaison to the Resource Sharing Committee.
The terms are three years; in the inaugural two years terms may be extended or shortened to create a staggered approach so the committee will balance experienced and new members.
The SPC needs to sustain outward-facing capacity to keep channels open with other shared print groups. The Chair of SPC will take this responsibility or delegate it to another member.
